Mrs. Louise M. Allen's Obituary
Mrs. Louise M. Allen, age 90, passed away Saturday, January 24, 2015. She was born August 26, 1924 in Muskegon to Siert and Winifred (Buikema) Spyke and had been a life-long resident. Louise was a 1942 graduate of Muskegon High School and had been the Assistant Vice President of Hackley Bank prior to her retirement in 1986. She was a former member of First Reformed Church and had been an active member and past Chief of the Vikings Linne Lodge #57. On March 24, 1945 she married Leo Allen in Muskegon and he preceded her in death on October 28, 2012. SURVIVORS include 2 children: Karen Vlas of Orlando, FL, Stephen (Jayne) Allen of Twin Lake; 5 grandchildren: Jeff (Jennifer) Vlas, Jamie (Lisa) Vlas, Eric (Trisha) Allen, Gregory (Rachel) Allen, Jeanne (Chris) Becker; 7 great-grandchildren: Sarah Vlas, Nathan and Grace Allen, Gavin Daugherty, Kelsey, William, and Allyson Becker; brother, Louis Spyke of Muskegon; sister, Betty Ringelberg of Muskegon and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her great-grandson, Trevor Jon Allen in 2003; sister, Mildred Peterson; and brother, William Spyke. The family of Louise would like to extend their sincere thanks to all of the staff at Sanctuary at the Park for the special care given to her over the last couple of years. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Friday, February 20, 2015 at The Walburn Chapel, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., (231) 759-8565. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place in Lakeside Cemetery next to her husband Leo. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Viking Scholarship Fund or Harbor Hospice.
