Mrs. Louise Mae Johnson's Obituary
Mrs. Louise Mae Johnson, age 93, passed away Sunday, October 30, 2016. Louise was born May 23, 1923 in Superior, Wisconsin to August and Ethel (Peterson) Abrahamson. On September 6, 1947, she married Archie L. Johnson and he preceded her in death January 10, 2010. Louise had been a grade school teacher at Carpenter Elementary, but was primarily a homemaker, and a wonderful mother to her children. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, and studying birds. Louise was a member of Central United Methodist Church. She had previously taught Sunday school, delivered for Meals on Wheels, and volunteered at the adult day care center before her move here from Chicago. Louise was always thinking of others and will be greatly missed by all who loved her. She is survived by her children, Daniel (Renee) Johnson of Hinsdale, IL, Rev. James (Rev. Jan) Johnson of Muskegon and David (Barbara) Johnson of Portland, OR; 7 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Archie, she was preceded in death by her parents. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 3 PM Friday, November 4, 2016 at Sanctuary at the Oaks Living Center, 1740 Village Dr., Muskegon, with Rev. Gerald and Rev. Susan Hagans officiating. VISITATION will be one hour prior to the service (2-3 PM). In lieu of flowers, MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to the UMCOR Haiti Relief Fund, P.O. Box 9068 New York, NY. 10087.
