Louise Petersen's Obituary
Louise (Bytwerk) Petersen, age 86, of Grand Haven passed away Monday, December 18, 2006, at her home. She was born April 20, 1920, to Isaac and Kate (Veenstra) Bytwerk in Muskegon, and she married William Petersen on October 1, 1941, in Muskegon. He preceded her in death on December 10, 2000. Louise was an active member of First Christian Reformed Church, the Gideons International and the Grand Haven Christian School, especially when her children were involved. She also enjoyed letter-writing and sending cards. Louise is survived by 5 daughters: Sheryll (Robert) Poel of Grand Rapids, Helen Petersen of Portage, Eunice Petersen of Grand Haven, Donna (Allen) DeWeerd of Hudsonville, and Yvonne (Rev. Leonard) Riemersma of Willard, Ohio; a son, James William Petersen of Grand Rapids; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers: John (Jean) Bytwerk and Andy (Caroline) Bytwerk; a sister, Trudy Kramer; and two sisters-in-law, Helene Bytwerk and Lois Petersen. Louise was preceded in death by a great-grandchild, Aria Grace Poel, and two brothers, James and Conrad. The service for Louise will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday at First Christian Reformed Church in Grand Haven with Rev. Richard Hamstra and Rev. Leonard Riemersma officiating. Friends may meet the family Wednesday 5-8 p.m. at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home in Grand Haven and Thursday one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Lake Forest Cemetery. Memorials to the Gideons or to Grand Haven Christian School are appreciated.
