Louis F. "Bill" Deitz's Obituary
Mr. Louis “Bill” Fred Deitz, age 79, passed away New Year’s Day, Sunday, January 1, 2012, in Roosevelt Park. He was born June 24, 1932 in Muskegon to Louis R. and Elizabeth (Vanderstelt) Deitz and had resided in the area all of his life. Bill had been employed 42 years at Sealed Power Corporation prior to his retirement in 1992. Bill was a member of Allen Avenue Christian Reformed Church and was a fan of the Detroit Tigers. On September 19, 1964, Bill married the former Joann Christenson and she survives him along with their two children, Diane (Jim) Meyers of Muskegon and Michael (Amy) Deitz of Osceola, IN; 2 grandchildren, Aidan & Ella Deitz; 1 brother, John (Eugenia) Deitz of Muskegon. Bill was preceded in death by 4 sisters, Margaret Sikkenga, Arlene Hendricks, Betty Hutchinson and Leona Smith and by 1 brother, Robert Deitz. FUNERAL SERVICES will be 11 AM Thursday, January 5, 2012 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 6291 S. Harvey Street, Norton Shores, MI 49444 (231-798-1100), with Pastor Robert Bierenga officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery. VISITATION with Bill’s family will be 6-8 PM Wednesday. For a more lasting memorial, you are asked to consider Muskegon Christian School or Western Michigan High School.
