Louis G. "Lou" Ruzicka's Obituary
Mr. Louis G. “Lou” Ruzicka, age 89, passed away Friday evening, March 19, 2004. He was born August 2, 1914 in Muskegon to Ignatius and Mary Ann (Osusky) Ruzicka and had been a life resident. Mr. Ruzicka was a life member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church and attended the Muskegon Heights school system. He was employed by and retired from the Hiram Walker Co., Inc. Mr. Ruzicka was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie #2106, the First Catholic Slovak Union #595, Muskegon County Old Newsies, Muskegon Elks Lodge #274, Lions Club of Mona Shores, Knights of Columbus Council #706, the Old Timers Baseball Association of Chicago, and was an avid golfer. On April 30, 1938, he married the former Helen Chuhak in Muskegon, and she preceded him in death on April 8, 1975. SURVIVORS include his son, Louis “Tom” (Mary) Ruzicka of Holland; grandchildren, Sheri (Scott) Hansen, Tom (Dana) Ruzicka, Diane (Brian) Schwaiger, Steve (Tina) Ruzicka; 9 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Helen (George) Zimonick. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Karen; parents; and brothers, Joseph, Steve, and Victor Ruzicka. THE FUNERAL LITURGY will be celebrated 11:00 AM Tuesday at St. Michael’s Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. VISITATION will be from 2-4 & 6-8 PM today at The Walburn Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 1547 W. Sherman Blvd.(231) 759-8565 with the Rosary prayed at 6:00 PM.
