Louis M. Sorensen's Obituary
Mr. Louis Miller “Louie” Sorensen, age 81, passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2006 at Brookhaven Medical Care Facility. He was born November 16, 1924 in Muskegon to Charles and Louella (Perry) Sorensen and lived his entire life in the area. On July 7, 1950, he married the former Betty I. Young in Muskegon. He was a veteran of the US Army Airborne. Louie worked 29 years as a tool and die maker for Hy-Lift of Muskegon and retired in 1988. He was active in the Seniors Bowling League at Northway Lanes. Louie was an active member of Northside Bible Church where he had formerly served as an elder. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Betty Sorensen; 2 sons, Douglas James Sorensen, Mark L. Sorensen; 3 daughters, Pamela Ann (Walter) Clark, Diana Lee (Stanley) Strach, Karen Joyce (Jerry) Keith; 9 grandchildren, Abraham, Elizabeth, Hannah, Daniel, Andrew, Staci, Kristi, Courtney, Brittney; 1 great granddaughter, Keira; 2 brothers, Carl (Frances) Sorensen, Orville (Rosalie) Sorensen; 1 sister, Eva (Frank) Sali; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 4 sons, Louis, Charles, Daniel, and David Sorensen; 1 grandson, Benjamin Clark; his parents, Charles and Louella Sorensen; 2 brothers, Russell Sorensen, Elmer Myers; and 1 sister, Edna Oakes. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, May 6, 2006 at Northside Bible Church (1937 Whitehall Road) with Rev. Lowell Wood officiating. INTERMENT will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens with Military Honors offered by the Muskegon County Council of Veterans.
