LuAnn (Bates) Ferrier's Obituary
LuAnn (Bates) Ferrier, age 62, passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at home. She was born on October 4, 1959 to Robert Bates and Louise Ferguson in Muskegon, MI. LuAnn graduated from Fruitport high school class of 1978. She was a dedicated employee of 10 years at Grand Haven Gasket Company. In her earlier years, LuAnn enjoyed dancing and camping. She enjoyed pressing her luck with her mom at the casino or spending time with friends at the Lithuania Club. She had a competitive side and loved game nights playing Skip-Bo and Yahtzee. She was known as an avid reader, television watcher and for her “great” taste in paint colors. LuAnn was a people person and genuinely cared for everyone. She was a bible believing follower of Jesus and above all things, she truly loved spending time with her family. She will always be remembered as everyone’s “Mom” and for her big heart. Her tender-loving and spunky personality will genuinely be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her two loving children, Angela (Russell Herron) Ferrier and Anthony (Amy) Ferrier; mother and best friend, Louise Ferguson; father of her children, Kenneth Ferrier; 5 grandchildren, Alexandria DueBer, Kiya (Dillon) White, Noah, Benjamin and Emily Ferrier; 3 bonus grandchildren, Ryan Gilbert, Alisha Doughty and Anthony Schaub; 2 brothers, Ron Bates and Gary Bates; special friend, Dave Harper; numerous nieces and nephews; and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Bates; stepfather, Jack Ferguson; and 3 brothers, Bob Bates, John Bates and Dennis Bates. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00PM on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 737 E. Apple Ave., Muskegon, MI 49442. A visitation with the family will be held from 1-2:00PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to Angela or Anthony Ferrier to offset funeral expenses, or in LuAnn’s honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Trinity Health Johnson Family Cancer Center.
