LuAnn Vanderstelt's Obituary
LuAnn Vanderstelt, age 71, passed away in Holland, MI, on Wednesday, December 18, 2024. LuAnn was born in Grand Haven, MI, to Clarence and Donna (Snow) Johnson on December 13, 1953. She graduated from Western Michigan Christian High School and went on to work as an LPN at Hackley Hospital for 35 years before retiring in 2009, and she continued providing private duty nursing until 2019. On May 31, 1980, she married Raymond L. Vanderstelt, and they spent many wonderful years together before he preceded her in death in 2003. She was a longtime member at Unity Reformed Church, where she was involved in their prayer group. LuAnn greatly enjoyed traveling with her friends. They travelled all over the world together, including France, Russia, Switzerland, Italy, and many other places. In her younger years she enjoyed camping and working with ceramics. She was a good friend, and she deeply loved all the dogs that she owned over the years. LuAnn will be lovingly remembered by her four children: Brent Vanderstelt, Jodi (Don) Smith, Scott (Rhonda) Vanderstelt, and Ryan Vanderstelt; two grandchildren, Lindsey and Logan Smith; and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Vanderstelt; parents, Clarence and Donna Johnson; and stepmother, Grace Johnson. The family would like to express special thanks to all of the friends and caregivers that cared for LuAnn over the years. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held for LuAnn at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 27, 2024, at Unity Reformed Church, 1521 Porter Rd, Norton Shores, MI 49441. VISITATION will be held from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Thursday, December 26, 2024, at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI, 49444.
