Lucia Marie Fisher's Obituary
Lucia “Marie” Fisher, age 69, passed away on Thursday, August 18, 2022, in Muskegon, MI. She was born in Muskegon on September 2, 1952, to her parents Warren and Lucy (Herrera) Mattice. A proud Big Red, she graduated from Muskegon High School in 1971. She went on to work as a waitress in various local restaurants, but most recently worked for 13 years as a bus driver for Oakridge schools. On February 4, 1978, she married Jack Fisher, and they spent 44 wonderful years together. Marie had a volunteering spirit, and she was happy to help where she could, such as working for Muskegon Summer Celebration for 17 years, volunteering at The USS Silversides Submarine Museum, and helping at her kids’ school events. Marie’s family was the most important thing to her, and she loved spending time with them. She enjoyed coloring, crocheting, and working with ceramics. Everyone knew her as the life of the party, and she brought joy to everyone that she met. Marie will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Jack Fisher; four children: Melissa (Denny Walter) Mowery, Miranda (Valentín) Pellotalers, Jonathon (Jenny) Fisher, and Stacy Christenson; seven grandchildren: Charlie Cooper, Ashlyn Mowery, Faithe Mowery, Angelica Pellotalers, Jax Pellotalers, Ayden Fisher, and Hayden Mowery; one great-granddaughter, Wesley Cooper; two brothers: Robert Mattice and Leeland Mattice; one sister, Cassie (Mike) Faino; many aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; and many “Bonus” children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Warren and Lucy; her infant daughter, Diana Mattice; and two sisters, Clara May Mattice and Cora Duncan. A VISITATION will be taking place for Marie from 5:00-7:00 PM on Monday, August 22, at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI, 49444. A CELEBRATION OF LIFE will be taking place from 6:00-10:00 PM on her 70th birthday, September 2, 2022, at The USS Silversides Submarine Museum, 1346 Bluff St, Muskegon, MI, 49441.
