Mrs. Lucille E. Collins' Obituary
Lucille’s unwavering devotion and support to her family was without bounds. Loved by all she touched, she will always be remembered for her kind and gentle ways; her humble and loving spirit. Lucille’s shining example of faith inspired all who knew her. Mrs. Lucille E. Collins, age 94, passed away Monday afternoon, February 6, 2012, surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 30, 1917 in Fremont to Joseph and Emma (Schmitt) Lanciaux. Lucille married Lyle Collins on July 30, 1938 in Brunswick, MI, and he preceded her in death on April 19, 1993. Lucille was employed for 29 ½ years as a data processor at Mercy Hospital until her retirement. She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church. Lucille had been a longtime member of the former St. Joseph Catholic Church and was also active in the Catholic Daughters of America - Muskegon and the Muskegon Catholic Schools Foundation. Lucille very much enjoyed attending all her social occasions. During the last two years she was cared for in her home by her devoted grandson, Steven. Lucille loved her family very much and is survived by her 5 children, Lewis (Margaret) Collins of Muskegon, Barbara (Roger) Barry of Dandridge, TN, Beverly (Frank) Plouhar of Muskegon, Kathleen (Daniel) Morgan of Anchorage, AK, and Margaret (Thomas) Reeder of Wyoming, MI; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, Francis (Mary) Lanciaux of Muskegon; a sister, Lorraine Anderson of Norton Shores; many nieces and nephews; and lifelong dear friend, Marie Peterson. In addition to her husband Lyle, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia; and 2 grandsons, David and Donald. THE MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be 11:00 AM Friday, February 10, 2012 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church (1716 Sixth St.) with Rev Fr. Thomas J. Brown as presider. VISITATION will be Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Ave. 231-726-5210 with the ROSARY being prayed at 3:30 PM. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery in Brunswick, MI.
