Mrs. Lucille E. Dykstra's Obituary
Mrs. Lucille E. Dykstra, age 102, passed away Thursday afternoon, October 3, in Norton Shores. She was born August 29, 1911 in Mesick, MI to John A. and Matie (Hering) Davis, and lived almost all of her life in the Muskegon area. When she was young Mrs. Dykstra worked at Hackley Hospital, where she met her husband, Nicholas. Later she worked as a clerk at Woolworth’s and Kresge’s. She was a member of Calvin Christian Reformed Church. On August 7, 1937 Lucille married Nicholas H. Dykstra in Angola, IN, and he preceded her in death in1982. SURVIVORS include 2 daughters, Betty (Ted) Cihos of North Carolina, Linda (Dave) Compton of Norton Shores; 1 daughter-in-law, Phyllis Neitzel of Grand Rapids; 4 grandchildren, Julie (Bill), Michael (Janet), Randy (Tami), Kristy (Andy); 7 great-grandchildren, Morgan, Katelyn, Will, Nicholas, Brianne, Justin, and Krisan. She was also preceded in death by a son, Robert; 2 brothers and 2 sisters. THE FUNERAL SERVICE will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 8, at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444, (231) 798-1100 with Rev. John Rop officiating. Burial will take place at Mona View Cemetery. VISITATION at the funeral home will be from 5-8 PM Monday.
