Mrs. Lucille "Lucy" Johnson's Obituary
Mrs. Lucille J. “Lucy” Johnson, 80, of Twin Lake, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 5, 2022, at the Poppen Residence. She was born September 27, 1941, to Glen L. and Helena M. (Olsowsky) Chambers in Wellsville, New York and moved to the Muskegon area in late 1940’s. Lucy graduated from North Muskegon High School, Class of 1959 and was a 4 year member of the cheerleading squad, proud to cheer on her favorite football and basketball teams. On January 23, 1960, Lucy married her high school sweetheart, Jerry Johnson, and they recently celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary. Lucy loved being a wife, mother, and grandmother along with many other interests. Some of her interests include antiquing, painting, and decorating both her home and for local weddings. She enjoyed entertaining family and friends at the family home on Middle Lake. She was the president of her sorority, PTA president and an Avon lady. Whatever Jerry’s interests were, she was on board with it from field trialing with their Weimaraners and horses to golfing and overnights at their hunting cabin. She was her grandchildren’s biggest fan at their sporting and school events. Lake Michigan beaches, lunches with friends, taking vacations and road trips with her family were always fun times for her. Husband Gerald A. “Jerry” Johnson survives her along with four children: Kelly Johnson, Stacy (Mitch) Jordan, Bradley “Buzz” (Elizabeth) Johnson, Carrie (Carl, Jr.) Murat; three grandchildren: Carly (Preston) Kahl, Morgan Murat, Carter Johnson; one great-grandchild: Caden Kahl; her dog Buddy; several nieces, nephews, and brothers-in-law.
