Lucille Faye Radke's Obituary
Mrs. Lucille Faye (Zerns) Mitchelson Radke, age 88, passed away at her home in Muskegon on Saturday, June 25, 2022. She was born in Muskegon on November 13, 1933 to John and Edna Zerns. Lucille was an avid music lover. Growing up she learned to play the accordion, often playing concerts at churches around Muskegon. She also played a solo concert in Grand Rapids. Mom cherished her summers at the Pere Marquette Beach. You could find her sitting by the concession stand reading and watching the people come and go. At the end of the day stopping for ice cream was a must. Mom spent 28 years in the Christian Care Assisted Living facility, it was her home. Despite her challenges her life was full. We give thanks to God for blessing us with a smart, feisty, strong, and independent woman. We are forever grateful to all of Mom’s caregivers who became her family over the course of her 28-year stay. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Christian Care Assisted Living, my Mom’s home. Lucille is survived by two daughters, Sherye (Charles) Beckman and Karla (Dan) Kreis; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Rochelle Mitchelson; her husband, Larry Radke; her former husband, Thomas Mitchelson; and one brother, Morris Jaskus. According to her wishes, cremation has taken place and a PRIVATE CELEBRATION OF HER LIFE will be held. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Montague, Michigan. Arrangements by The Walburn Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., Muskegon, MI 49441. You may sign her online guestbook at www.sytsemafh.com
