Mrs. Lucille G. "Lucy" Smith's Obituary
Mrs. Lucille G. Smith, 82, passed away suddenly and peacefully Thursday evening, January 15, 2015 at her home. Born September 12, 1932 in Muskegon to Bert and Irene (Wilson) Visscher, she married Frank E. Smith October 11, 1952, and he survives her. Lucille was a member of Unity United Methodist Church, VFW Post 8846 Auxiliary, and she and Frank had been long-time Goodfellows volunteers. Her survivors include her husband, Frank; children: Christi (Brad) DeLong, Doug Smith, Kathy (Joe) Bachelder, and Karen Smith; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren; brothers: Robert Visscher and Gene (Barb) Visscher; sisters: Pauline Hoekenga, Joyce Eitinear, and Carol Westjohn; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Steven “Tiny” in 1982, and great-grandson, Garrett Bradley Frazier in 2013. Family was always very important to her—every generation of them received all her love and attention. VISITATION for Mrs. Smith will be 5-7 P.M. Tuesday, January 20, 2014 at The Sytsema Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, 737 Apple Ave., Muskegon, MI 49442, phone 231-726-5210. SERVICES will be there 1:00 P.M.
