Lucille M. (Zachariason) Twining's Obituary
Mrs. Lucille M. (Zachariason) Twining, age 93, passed away Monday, July 13, 2009 at a local nursing home. She was born October 27, 1915 in Muskegon to Gustave and Anna (Rohde) Zachariason and lived in the area most of her life. In 1938, she married Russell R. Twining and he preceded her in death in 2004. She was the president of Twining Wholesale which she held for 40 years retiring in 1984. Prior to that, she worked for Krautheim Jewelers. She was an officer of Credit Execs, past president and lifetime member of the Muskegon Women’s Club. She was an ardent worker of crime prevention for many years. She was also a member of Temple United Methodist Church. SURVIVORS include 3 sons, Dennis (Suzy) Twining of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Gary Twining of Newaygo, Curtis (Sheila) Twining of Norton Shores; 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Delores Olson of Bloomfield Hills, MI; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friend, Alison Stott. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, July 16, 2009 at The Walburn Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., (231) 759-8565 with Pastor Rob Cook officiating. INTERMENT will take place at Mona View Cemetery. VISITATION with the family will be 4-7 PM Wednesday and one hour prior to the service, 12-1 PM Thursday.
