Lula Van Vleet's Obituary
Mrs. Lula Van Vleet, age 81, of West Olive, passed away Sunday, March 18, 2018 at home. She was born June 10, 1936 in Clinton, Arkansas to George and Beulah (Smith) Cullum. On December 1, 1956 she married LeRoy Van Vleet in Grand Haven and he preceded her in death on July 16, 2014.
Lula was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved dancing and taught ballroom dancing in Muskegon for many years. Family was very important to her and she loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much.
She is survived by five children: Douglas Van Vleet of Virginia Beach, VA, Reta (David) Walker of Grand Haven, Carolyn (Jerry) Sebright of Holland, Katherine (Ron) Cox of Saugatuck, and Lyle (Lynette) Van Vleet of Holland; twenty-two grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; sisters: Elma (Everett) Marchbanks, Virginia Gonzalez, Reta (Ben) Huber, and Lessie (Dale) Ryder; brothers, Jessie (Karen) Cullum, and Jerry (Sonja) Cullum. Lula was preceded in death by her parents, and five sisters.
A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, March 22, 2018 at The VanZantwick Chapel (620 Washington Ave. Grand Haven) Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Historic Cemetery. Memorial contributions in memory of Lula may be given to Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
