Lura M. Klett's Obituary
Mrs. Lura M. Klett, age 90, went to be with the Lord on May 27, 2012. She was born on February 6, 1922 to George and Jesse (Prince) Thomas in Hollow Rock, TN. Lura graduated from Central High School in Bruceton, TN in 1941. Aspiring to be a nurse, she instead married Russell Klett after WWII on June 7, 1946 in Muskegon. Lura was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church and was the secretary for the Beginners Department under Ruth Hermanson for many years. She worked at Howmet Misco for 24 years prior to her retirement. Lura and Russell enjoyed volunteering in prison ministries for 17 years at the Muskegon Correctional Facility. She enjoyed raising her family, traveling to Europe twice, gardening, cooking, sewing and was known by UPS for all the deliveries to her home. SURVIVORS include her husband, Russell Klett; 2 children, Patricia Klett of Chesterton, IN and Thomas (Joyce (nee Arnold)) Klett of Rocky Mount, NC; 1 grandson, Robert Klett and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister and three brothers. The FUNERAL SERVICE will be 1:00 PM Wednesday at Lakeside Baptist Church (2250 Denmark St.) with Rev. Leslie Lew officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 2 hours prior to the service at church, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Burial will take place at Lakeside Cemetery. Memorials to Lakeside Baptist Church General Fund would be appreciated.
