Mr. Lyle T. Dawson's Obituary
Mr. Lyle T. Dawson, age 86, passed away at home on Sunday, April 29, 2018. He was born on December 25, 1931 to Roger and Frieda (Gruenwald) Dawson in Detroit. Lyle worked as a foreman at Detroit Edison for 40 years and moved to West Michigan in 1992. He proudly served his country during the Korean War while in the United States Army. Lyle was a member of Spring Lake Presbyterian Church and the Grand Haven Lions Club. He enjoyed boating, fishing and creating beautiful stained-glass pieces. Lyle had a gentle soul and loved dogs. He liked traveling in his motorhome and going on weekend excursions. Lyle is survived by his wife of 17 years, Linda; daughter, Lynn (Craig) Linton; grandson; Jesse; step-daughters, Dianne (Martin Ulferts) Dawes and Teresa (Kim Curtis) Dawes and their families. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lorraine Dawson; parents, Roger and Frieda; and sister, Gloria Zielinski. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, May 3 at 3PM at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., 231-798-1100. Visitation with the family will be 1 hour prior to the service from 2-3PM.
