Lyle G. Holtrop's Obituary
Lyle G. Holtrop age 90, of Coopersville passed away on Friday, August 3, 2012 at Oakcrest Manor in Spring Lake .
He was born on August 11, 1921 in Nunica , MI to the late Gert and Nellie ( Moore ) Holtrop and served in the United States Navy during WWII. He married Marjorie (Langlois) Holtrop on November 7, 1942 in Spring Lake , MI .
Lyle is survived by his wife Margie, son James (Jan) Holtrop of Conklin, daughter Dawn Holtrop of Grand Rapids , 6 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren, 3 Great Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Max Holtrop, and sister Wilna Powell.
Mass from the Order of Christian Funerals will be prayed on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at 11:00 am at St. Catherines Catholic Church in Ravenna . Relatives and friends can meet the family at the church from 10:00am until the Mass begins and at the Throop Funeral Home of Ravenna on Monday, August 6, 2012 from 4-6pm. The rosary will be prayed at 6pm Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Marne .
Memorial contributions may be made in his honor to Salvation Army or North Ottawa Hospice.
