Lynda J. Jones' Obituary
Mrs. Lynda Jean Jones, age 72, passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 in Muskegon. She was born in Muskegon on January 25, 1947 to Ernest and Betty (George) Veihl. Lynda was a dedicated, hard working employee that truly loved each job she had. She was retired from Holton Public Schools where she taught for 24 years; had owned and operated her own daycare for 18 years; was known as “Weekend Lynda” and loved by her co-workers and customers at K-Mart, a part time job she had for 29 years; and most recently, she enjoyed her job and caring co-workers at the Whitehall McDonald’s. Lynda loved her family and looked forward to the yearly family reunions they hosted at their lake house on the 4th of July. She loved being a mom and grandma; taking every available opportunity to introduce and brag about her children and grandchildren. On June 22, 1968, Lynda married James Jones and he survives her along with their children, Michelle (Rick) Stafford, Michael Jones, and Matthew (Traci) Jones; 10 grandchildren, Brenna, Ashley, Hannah, Allison, Lauren, Matthew, Holly, Kendall, Adam, and Raelyn; sister, Sharon (Howie) Behm; and her faithful dogs, Sammy and Max. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Ronald Veihl, Sr. VISITATION will be held from 6-9 PM Thursday, April 25, 2019 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., 231-798-1100. A CELEBRATION OF LYNDA’S LIFE will be held 2:00 PM Friday, April 26, 2019 at The Lee Chapel. Interment will be at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
