LYNN JAMES MARCIL's Obituary
Mr. Lynn J. Marcil, age 69, died unexpectedly Wednesday afternoon, October 4, 2017, at his home. He was born April 30, 1948 in Versailles, KY to Leonard and Arlaine (Haase) Marcil; and had resided most of his life in the Muskegon area. Lynn was a U.S. Army veteran of the Viet Nam War. He had spent his entire working career as an Interior Lineman for GTE, prior to retiring in 1999. Lynn enjoyed life, golfing, hunting, boating (wink, wink) and helping others. He was a Life-long member of the Lincoln Golf Club, where he played on the Wednesday Men’s League, The Vikings, Don Rea VFW Post # 8846 and of the Legendary Thursday Guy’s Night. On April 17, 1971 he married the former Mary Ann Noling, to whom he was a devoted and loving husband, and she survives him along with his daughter-in-law, Kelly Hunt; 2 grandchildren, Leighton and Hensleigh; brother, Phil (Carol) Marcil and sister, Ann Pothoff, all of Norton Shores; brothers-in-law, John (Sue) Noling of North Muskegon and Joe (Roxanne) Noling of Auburndale, FL; 8 loving nieces and nephews, Rob, Kimberly, Brett, Corey, Zach, Josh, Jennifer and Jessica; his special friend, Jim Stewart; Mary’s step-brothers and sisters and a host of other friends. Lynn was preceded in death by his son, Eric, on March 2, 2000; his parents, Leonard and Arlaine Marcil; brother-in-law, Chuck Pothoff, nephew, David Marcil and by his father and mother-in-law, Albert and Rose Noling. VISITATION with Lynn’s family will be 2:00-5:00PM Sunday at the Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 (231-798-1100). A CELEBRATION OF Lynn’s life will follow immediately at Lincoln Golf Club, 4907 Whitehall Rd., Muskegon, MI 49445.
