M. Ardis Schaaf's Obituary
M. Ardis Schaaf, age 88, passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2020 in Muskegon. She was born January 21, 1932 in Oshkosh, WI and lived in the Detroit area many years before moving to the Muskegon area in 1993. On November 26, 1955, she married Jim Schaaf in Madison, WI and he survives her. Ardis earned her Bachelors Degree from University of Wisconsin and her Masters Degree from Wayne State University. She enjoyed a long career in public education as a Language and Speech Pathologist in Sheboygan, WI and 18 years with Pontiac Public Schools before she retired in 1990. She was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, the Yarn Spinners (a story telling group) and the West Michigan Porsche Club. Ardis enjoyed wintering in Dunedin, FL, acting with community theatre and stage players. Ardis was especially drawn to life on the water and days in the sun. She will be greatly missed by loving husband, Jim Schaaf; 3 children, Joel (Andrea) Schaaf; Amy (Russ) Grasman, PJ Hudson; her grandson, Kyle Grasman; and her sisters, Karen Cory and JoAnn Neville. She was preceded in death by her parents. In keeping with Ardis’ wishes, there will be no services.
