Madeleine Kunnen's Obituary
Mrs. Madeleine Kunnen, age 92, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 29, 2021. She was born on October 1, 1928 in Manistee, MI to Clea and Maude (Cogswell) Ennis. On August 16, 1949, Madeleine married Ronald Joe Kunnen in Fremont and spent 58 years wonderful years together. Ronald and Madeline raised five beautiful children. Madeleine was a Calvinette leader, a member of the Lydia Guild, then worked as a lunch lady, and helped children learn to read, something she was especially proud of. She was an active member of Grace Christian Reformed Church where she taught Sunday School and Bible school for several years and enjoyed attending church activities. Madeleine is survived by her children, Ronald Lee, Victoria Hazel, Paul Mark, and Kenneth Ray; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; sister, Ethelynne Kunnen; brothers Leo Ennis, and Alan Burmiester (Bonnie); sisters in law; Kim Sue, and Maxine Luchies. She preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Joe Kunnen and her son, Terry Kunnen. A PUBLIC VISITATION for will be held from 4PM-7PM Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 6291 S Harvey St, Muskegon, Michigan 49444. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the funeral home is allowed 25 guests in the building at a time. As people pay their respects to the family and exit the building, more guests will be allowed in. Masks will be required. There will be a private service at a later date. Memorial contribution can be made to The Myositis Associations in Columbia, MD online or call 1-800-821-7356.
