Madeline VanderWeg's Obituary
Mrs. Madeline VanderWeg, age 88, went to be with her Lord early Wednesday morning
at a local nursing home. She was born October 6, 1916 in Muskegon to John and Anna
(Brondyke) Hasper. Madeline lived all her life in this area, working for Continental
Motors in the Stock Transfer Office for 9 years prior to her retirement. On October 8,
1946, she married Charles VanderWeg, and he preceded her in death on January 16, 1995. She was a lifetime member of Bethany Christian Reformed Church, where she had a longtime involvement in their Ladies Fellowship program. Madeline is survived by her daughter, Joann (James) Hughes of Norton Shores; 2 brothers, Gerard “Hap” (Marietta) Hasper of North Muskegon and Donald (Helen) Hasper of Muskegon; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Gerald, Willard and Henry Hasper. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11 AM Saturday at Sytsema Funeral Homes Inc., 737 Apple Avenue, Muskegon, MI 49442,(231-726-5210)with Pastor David Sieplinga officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4 & 6-8PM Friday. For a more lasting memorial you are asked to consider the Bethany Education Society.
