Mae Josephine Harding's Obituary
Mae Josephine Harding, age 82, passed away Monday, December 27, 2021 at Chestnut Fields Living Center. She was born May 8, 1939 in Gaylord, MI to Victor J. and Marie E. (Moore) Ouellette. Mae married Donald L. Harding, Sr. on November 30, 1957 and he preceded her in death on July 16, 2013. Mae owned and operated Fresh & Fancy Floral for many years. Along with her husband, Don, she was also the owner and bookkeeper of Flint Industrial for 15 years until they retired and sold the business to their sons, Chris and John, in 1999. Mae was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church where she volunteered for the funeral luncheons. She was a talented seamstress and loved to sew especially making her own clothes, drapes and many things she created. Flower arranging was also one of her many talents as well as ceramics and crafting. Mae was a wonderful cook and loved taking care of her family. She also loved to shop and in her later years really enjoyed her online shopping. She will be greatly missed by all her loved her. Survivors include 5 children, Vickie Helgeson, Donald L. (Sue Black) Harding, Jr., Douglas (Valerie) Harding, Christopher (Rebecca) Harding, John (Robin) Harding; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; and 2 brothers, David (Jane) Ouellette and Victor (Connie) Ouellette, Jr. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don; her daughter, Denise Harding; her parents; 1 brother, Larry; and 2 sisters, Joanne and Rosie. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Saturday, January 8, 2022 in Marian Chapel at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church with Rev. Charles D. Hall presiding. Visitation will take place one hour prior to Mass. Interment will take place in Gaylord, MI. Memorial Contributions may be directed to St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church Memorial Fund.
