Mrs. Mae B. Nummerdor's Obituary
Mrs. Mae Beatrice Nummerdor, age 96, went to be with her God Monday, October 18, 2021. She was born July 20, 1925, to Delbert and Erma (Palen) Rinehart in Muskegon and was a life-long resident of the city. Mae was an active member of Hope Reformed Church, where she sang in the choir and with a trio and taught Sunday School and Bible School. She was also an active member of the VFW #3734 Women’s Auxiliary.
During WWII, Mae worked at American Store Equipment making glider plane flooring until V-J Day. Most people call her Aunt Mae. On February 23, 1946, Mae married Arthur H. Nummerdor. Two years later she and Arthur started their family.
She loved her Lord and Savior and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed baking cakes, crocheting, and making clothes. She especially delighted in April Fool’s Day and was known for playing pranks on her family and friends.
Survivors include her children: William (Millie) Nummerdor and Cindie Burr; grandchildren: Stacy (Todd); Wade (Stacy); Johna (Jonathan); Joe (Lauren); Tricia (Chris); Shannon (Ingolf); Tony (Sheila); great-grandchildren: Kim, Katy, Macy, Courtney, Emily, Olivia, Maverick, Gavin, Elise, Gabrielle, Michelle, Nathaniel, Sydney, Adrian, Jakob, Maya, Oliver, and Malcolm. She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur, her son Daniel (Danny); grandchildren Michelle and Emmitt; and siblings: Leon, Ada, Frank, Marie, Raymond, Donna, Wava, and Adelbert (Pete).
Services will be Friday, October 22, at 1:00 PM at Hope Reformed Church, 1878 Evanston Ave., Muskegon, MI 49442. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM, also at the church. Burial will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Contributions in memory of Mrs. Nummerdor may be made to Hope Reformed Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 737 E. Apple Ave., Muskegon, MI 49442.
