Manuel Edwin Butzow's Obituary
We are sad to announce that on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, around 2:00 am in the morning, Manuel Edwin Butzow passed away due to complications from Covid-19. He was born on July 17, 1941, to Waldo and Helen (Ignatowski) Butzow in Redford, MI. On January 29, 1966, he married the love of his life, the former Barbara Lee Gibner, and together they spent 56 happy years together. Manuel lived a full life, with his wife and two dogs, out on their 60-acre property, which is part of the West Michigan Land Conservancy. Manuel loved to work and clean the land on his tractor, with his dogs following right behind. He loved to go fly fishing with his brother, son, family, and friends. Manuel loved travelling and seeing new places with his wife and friends. He will be missed by his loving family and so many great friends he had made over his lifetime. Manuel is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Lee Butzow; daughter, Linda (Stephen) Cole; son, Mark Andrew Butzow; grandchildren, Andrew and Ava Butzow; brother, Greg (Carol) Butzow; brother-in-law, Richard (Sue) Gyebnar; brother-in-law, William (Barbara) Gibner; and many nieces and nephews. VISITATION with Manuel’s family will take place outdoors on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM the Lee Chapel of the Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St. Norton Shores, MI 49444. A rosary service will start visitation at 4:00 PM. A MEMORIAL MASS will take place on Thursday, September 9, 2021, at Prince of Peace Catholic Church (1110 Dykstra Rd.) at 11:00 AM. For a more lasting memory, donations in Manuel’s name can be made to either the Land Conservancy of West Michigan or Prince of Peace Catholic Church.
