Marcia Renae Morse's Obituary
Marcia Renae Morse, age 72, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2022. Born November 8, 1949 in Muskegon, to Judith Irene Mathews and Julius Edward Williams, Sr. She was a graduate of Muskegon High School and proud member of the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians. Marcia worked as a home and school “liaison” for title IX Indian education program for Muskegon public schools and Orchard View school. On June 24, 1967, Marcia married Verne Eldon Morse who preceded her in death April 11, 2003. Marcia was a proud volunteer for the Democratic Party from 1980 through 2020 and was the favorite bartender at Softball World with husband, Verne. Marcia is survived by daughter, Maria Harjer; granddaughter, Nicole Harjer; 5 brothers: Nick (Penny) Swan, Edward Williams, Jeff Williams, Jerry Williams, and Charles Belisle; 3 sisters: Lesley (Greg) Morano, Angie Cody-Williams, and Melanie Townsend; several nieces and nephews. Marcia was also preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Fred Harjer; grandson, Chad Harjer; niece, Rachel Williams; and nephew, James Townsend. SERVICES for Marcia will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444. Pastor Jerry DePoy officiating. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place in Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
