Marcus R. Olmstead's Obituary
Marcus R. Olmstead’s life was tragically taken Wednesday evening, December 26, 2018. He was 20 years old. Born November 16, 1998 to Robert Olmstead and Kristi Ferry in Grand Rapids, he lived most of his life in Norton Shores. Marcus was a graduate of Mona Shores High School in 2017, where he enjoyed being a member of the choir and playing football. He attained the rank of Life as a Boy Scout, and was a camp counselor mentoring a younger generation of Scouts. Marcus enjoyed tabletop role playing games, playing with friends and family as often as he could. He was very patient and gentle with children and animals, and wanted to be a father someday. As an MSU college football fanatic, Marcus dreamed of attending the college. He was a student at Muskegon Community College and a cashier at Menards.
Marcus is survived by his twin brother Max Olmstead, father Robert Olmstead, step mother Michelle Olmstead, step brother Benjamin Olmstead, mother Kristi Ferry, half siblings Brooke and Anthony Brown. He was preceded in death by his beloved Grandparents Richard and Viola Olmstead, and Aunt Donna Pleasants.
Visitation will be from 1-3 PM Monday, December 31 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S Harvey Street. Funeral will immediately follow, to celebrate and remember Marcus. You may visit the family’s online guestbook at www.sytsemafh.com. Contributions in memory of Marcus may be made to ASPCA.
