Mardeana Rochelle Banks' Obituary
Mrs. Mardeana Rochelle Banks, age 79, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, July 31, 2020 with her family by her side. She was born in Waterloo, Iowa on June 20, 1941 to William D. and Eliza (Green) Commack. Mardeana married the love of her life, Charles Banks, Jr., on October of 1957 and they enjoyed 47 years prior to his passing in 2005. She was a long-time member of Beulah Baptist Church and was a member of the Elks Charity Lodge #1397 EL-Joy Temple 1208. Mardeana loved cooking and baking, especially pies and cakes. She was a caring and giving woman but was never afraid to say things straight and to the point. Most importantly, Mardeana loved her family and cherished time spent with them. Mardeana is survived by her three children, Fredrick Lee Banks, Kendall Maurice Banks, and Deanna Rochelle (Darryl Sherrod) Banks; five grandchildren, Ashley Banks, China Banks, Antonio Banks, Romeo Sherrod, and Ka’leigh Banks; several great-grandchildren; brother, James H. (Delores) Commack; sister, Ruccell Pearson; brother-in-law, J.L. Vivians; many nieces, nephews, loving family, and close friends, including; the Bailey family, Dorothy Lenoir, and Elizabeth Murphy. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Donald Commack, Lee Samuel Commack, and Paul Commack; sister, Josephine Vivians; and brother-in-law, Albert Pearson.
MEMORIAL SERVICE
2:00 PM Saturday, August 8, 2020 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 with Rev. James Williams officiating. VISITATION with her family will be one hour prior to her service. Burial will be with her husband at Mona View Cemetery. Mardeana loved her Life Circles family, nurses, and staff, and her family asks that any MEMORIALS in her memory be directed to them.
