Maree A. "Sue" Bollenbacher's Obituary
Maree Alyce “Sue” Bollenbacher, age 71, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, August 16, 2005, in Muskegon, after an extended illness. She was born May 13, 1934, in Muskegon, to Joseph E. “Ted” and Lucille G. (Webster) Crevier, and lived her entire life in this area. She graduated from Muskegon Heights High School. On August 18, 1956, she married Harold L. “Larry” Bollenbacher, her childhood sweetheart, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, in Muskegon Heights, and he preceded her in death on July 9, 1988. Sue had worked as a pharmacy technician and bookkeeper at various businesses in Muskegon, Spring Lake, and Grand Haven. She was an active member of the Vikings’ Linne’ Lodge No. 57 I.O.V. in Muskegon; Elks Lodge 274 B.P.O.E. in Muskegon; Mona Lake Boat Club in Muskegon; and American Legion Charles A. Conklin Post 28 in Grand Haven. Sue was a woman of deep and abiding faith, a consummate homemaker, a devoted parent and grandparent, and an active participant in the Bunker School P.T.A., Lakeside Boys Club, Cub Scouts, and Muskegon Catholic Central Band Parents when her children were growing up. She was a past communicant of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Muskegon Heights; St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Spring Lake; St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Muskegon; and was, at present, a communicant of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Muskegon. SURVIVORS include daughter Juli D. LaPres’ of Muskegon, and son Kurt L. (Pamela) Bollenbacher of FL; grandchildren Jodi E. (Joseph) Marsh of Adrian, MI, and Eric M. (Ashley) LaPres’ of Howell, MI; Melissa (Parkees) Harris of FL, and Christopher Britt of FL; great-grandchildren Matthew Marsh, Jack LaPres’, and Aryana Britt; her mother-in-law, Marie B. (Herington) Bollenbacher of Muskegon; beloved brother Jacque A. (Patricia) Crevier of Muskegon, sister-in-law Anna Crevier of GA, and brother-in-law Harley R. “Bob” (Carol) Bollenbacher of Muskegon; cherished aunt Evelyn B. “Evie” Kowalski of Muskegon; nephews J. Pierre (Diane) Crevier of Stevensville, MI, Paul A. (Annette) Crevier of Grand Haven, Robert J. (Robin) Crevier of Fremont, Steven R. (Janice) Bollenbacher of CO, and Michael J. (Patricia) Bollenbacher of NY; nieces Michele R. (Mark) Ebeling of Fremont, Claudia A. (Ty) Major of IL, Lori (Rick) Johnson of Muskegon, and Cindy (Don) Janowiak of Muskegon; much-loved and devoted special friend Gordon Norstrom of Muskegon; honorary and treasured “daughter” Lori A. Fortney of Muskegon; many cousins, great-nephews and great-nieces, and dear friends. Her spouse, her parents, her brother Robert E. Crevier, her son-in-law William F. “Bill” LaPres, and her father-in-law Harley D. Bollenbacher, preceded her in death. Her family wishes to acknowledge and thank the doctors and the devoted staff of Hackley Hospital, Hospice of Muskegon/Oceana, and David T. Ottenbaker, M.D. for the exemplary care she received during her long illness. THE FUNERAL LITURGY will be celebrated 10:00 AM Friday, August 19, 2005, in Marian Chapel at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 2929 McCracken, with Reverend Father Julian Reginato and Deacon William McCabe presiding. Interment will be made in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. VISITATION with Sue’s family will be held from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM on Thursday, August 18, 2005 at
