May the " hearer of prayer " (Psalms 65:2) give comfort, strength, and peace at this time of sorrow. You have my deepest sympathy.
I have some very fond memories of Mrs. Benham. She was a truly remarkable woman and teacher! I am 67 and went to Zoll School from kindergarten thru the eighth grade. She was kind yet had control of her students, which included 9 grades! I remember being in 2nd grade and having a new dress. I got the petticoat caught on something and ripped it. I was devastated! She had me sit in the bathroom while she mended it for me. I also remember Frank Wirtz putting a tack on her seat (7th) grade and getting his hands slapped with a ruler! Child abuse now days! She also had frogs put in her desk drawers and a one time event where Tom Kanaar, Frank and his brother Joe, managed to put her volkswagon on top of the cement well pad! She was a woman of substance who truly cared about her students! I learned a lot in her one room scholl! The school has been gone for some time now and now her wonderful soul has moved on. My condolences to her family.

She had a wonderful life full of love and travel, so glad she had her whole family at her
one hundredth birthday in November--what an accomplishment !! We are sad that her
spirit has left this world to grace another world.

From the time Peggy and I were part of a special group of people at Community College beginning our journey to become certified educators, she has held my greatest respect and admiration. What a love and vivacious personality! God bless her memory. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
