Margaret "Loretta" Bowman's Obituary
Margaret “Loretta” Bowman, age 87, passed away Sunday morning, May 9, 2021. She was born July 24, 1933 in Pontotoc, Mississippi to Earle and Laverta (Vaughn) Grubbs. On November 8, 1948, she married William “Bill” Bowman in Mississippi and he preceded her in death on February 15, 1994. Loretta was a proud foster parent for many years and was also an active member of Turning Point Church. SURVIVORS include 2 sons: Randy (Lynn) Bowman of Manton, MI and Terry Bowman of Sutherlin, Oregon; 3 daughters: Kim (Carl) McCann of Norton Shores, Debra (Bob) UpChurch of Sarasota, FL, and Kristie (Jason Ayersman) Bowman of Norton Shores; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Freddie and Carl Grubbs; and a sister, Oneida Grubbs. The family would like to thank the entire staff at Harbor Hospice for the wonderful support and care given to Loretta and family during this most difficult time. A PUBLIC visitation with the family will be held from 5-7 PM Friday, May 14, 2021 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 (231) 798-1100. Due to COVID-19 restrictions and social distancing, a maximum of 25 family members and guests will be allowed in the funeral home at one time. A PRIVATE family service will be held. Burial will take place in Sunrise Memorial Gardens Cemetery. MEMORIALS to Bethany Christian Services will be appreciated.
