Margaret M. Clark's Obituary
Margaret M. Clark
October 3, 1931 - September 6, 2023
Margaret loved the Lord. The most important decision she ever made was when she trusted Jesus as her Lord and Savior at the age of 10.
Margaret was born in a farm home to Earl and Buelah Miller in Pickford, MI on October 3, 1931. She was the third of seven children. Her family had no electricity for the first five years of her life. In 1949, she graduated from Pickford High School. In 1953, Margaret graduated from Northern Michigan University with a teaching degree. On August 22, 1955, she and Frank Clark, a military veteran, were married at the Presbyterian Church in Pickford, MI. Shortly thereafter, they moved to Greenville, SC where Frank attended Bob Jones University and graduated in 1960.
Following all of that, they both taught school in Muskegon, MI. Margaret also enjoyed teaching Sunday School for many years at the Evanston Avenue Baptist Church, where they were members since 1965.
Margaret retired from Reeths-Puffer Schools in 1987, and Frank retired in 1988 from Orchard View Schools. After their retirement they served for 10 very special years with the United Indian Missions in Arizona.
In 2005 while teaching missionaries’ children in Oaxaca, Mexico, Margaret began showing symptoms of dementia, and by 2017 she was unable to care for herself due to Alzheimer’s disease. Soon to follow, our good Lord took her home to Heaven, at just the right time, on Wednesday, September 6, 2023.
Margaret was a devoted wife to her husband, Frank, for 68 years and a devoted mother to her three children. She was a most wonderful person and will be sadly missed by her husband and those who knew her. Frank is so very, very ready and can hardly wait to join her in Heaven.
Margaret is survived by her husband, Frank, and two adult children: Joy Nelson born in 1957 and Bill Clark born in 1958. She was preceded in death by her son, Jon (Wendy) Clark of Elizabethton, TN; and five brothers, Ronald, Bob, Royce, Jim, and Willard.
There will be no visitation prior to or following Margaret’s burial at Sunrise Memorial Gardens where she will be laid to rest. Arrangements by The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444.
May God bless your spirit Margaret, and all those who read this obituary.
-Frank Clark – age 89 years.
