Margaret Enamark Graham's Obituary
Mrs. Margaret Enamark Graham, age 97, of Grand Haven passed away Sunday, January 13, 2019 at Christian Haven Home. She was born February 4, 1921 in Aarhus, Denmark to Carl and Marion (Enamark) Jensen and emigrated to the United States with her parents at the age of four. In February of 1945 she married John S. Graham in St. Paul’s on the Lake Catholic Church in Grosse Pointe, he preceded her in death on August 6, 1996.
Margaret graduated from Grosse Pointe Public Schools, earned her education degree from Michigan State University and her Masters Degree from Wayne State University. She was a dedicated teacher in the Grosse Pointe School District for over 30 years. Margaret was an avid golfer and a talented oil painter. She also enjoyed bridge and was a scrabble shark! She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Spring Lake. Margaret, to all who knew her, was a woman of grace, integrity, intelligence, tolerance, and compassion who will be greatly missed.
She is survived by two sons: Robert (Martha) Graham of Ferrysburg and Tim (Marie) Graham of Spring Lake; daughter-in-law, Judy (Altman) Graham of Orchard Lake; seven grandchildren: Christie (Darrell Beckman) Favenyesi, Thomas (Sheri) Favenyesi, David Favenyesi, Kenneth (Heather Monte) Graham, Kimberly (Bruce) Adami, Sarah (David) Barnes, and Brian Graham; five great-grandchildren: Austin Graham, Mallory Graham, Toby Favenyesi, Alexander Favenyesi, and Calvin Favenyesi; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, John E. Graham in 2007 and daughter, Ann Favenyesi in 2016; and sister, Ann Homire.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Friday, January 18, 2019 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Spring Lake, MI. Visitation will be 7-9 PM Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services - The VanZantwick Chapel(620 Washington Ave, Grand Haven). Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the service at church. Private interment will take place in Lakeshore Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Margaret may be given to Christian Haven Home, Hospice of North Ottawa Community, or Grand Haven Area Public Schools STEM program.
