Margaret Joslyn's Obituary
Mrs. Margaret Joslyn, age 83, passed away Wednesday, August 22, 2007 in Muskegon. She was born May 10, 1924 in Muskegon to Anthony and Grace (DeWall) VerHeul, and had been a life resident of the area. Mrs. Joslyn was a member of First Christian Reformed Church, where she was very involved. She was a wonderful baker and cook, and very devoted to her family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Margaret loved to knit and crochet, was an avid bowler for many years, and served as treasurer for the XYZ Friday bowling league. On October 29, 1943 she married Maurice “Gene” Joslyn, and he survives her along with 4 children Richard (Sandra) Joslyn of Allendale, Kathy (James) Sterenberg of Kalamazoo, Dan (Nan) Joslyn of Muskegon, and Larry (Lisa) Joslyn of Twin Lake; 7 grandchildren, Adam (Amy) Sterenberg of Kalamazoo, Chad (Kari) Joslyn of Wyoming, Rachael (Chris) Batts of Kalamazoo, Erik Joslyn of Muskegon, Mike (Sharla) Joslyn of Allendale, Erin (Tony) Cuti of Muskegon and CPL Philip Joslyn of N. Carolina; 7 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Ro Verheul; and brother-in-law, Phillip VanDyke. Margaret was preceded in death by infant son, David; brother, Arthur Verheul; and sister, Grace VanDyke. SERVICES will be 11 AM Saturday at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100 with Rev. Mike Borgert officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 4-8 PM Friday (this evening). Burial will take place in Restlawn Cemetery. Memorial Contributions to the Muskegon Rescue Mission would be appreciated.
