Mrs. Margaret Ellen Kamhout's Obituary
Mrs. Margaret Ellen Kamhout, age 92, passed away Friday, April 7, 2017. She was born May 18, 1924 in Sault St. Marie, Canada to Cresswell and Margaret (McKay) Dean. Margaret was a founding member of Laketon Bethel Church. She was a member of the Birthday Club and a member of Friends of Walker Library. Margaret was a reading mentor for Reeths-Puffer School District, and was a volunteer with the GELM Center in Texas. She enjoyed walking, camping, knitting, bird watching, and reading. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family. On June 30, 1946 she married Glen Kamhout in Muskegon, MI and he preceded her in death October 2, 2006. She is survived by her 6 children; Joan Rumohr of North Muskegon, Chase (Debbie) Kamhout of Spring Lake, Dean Kamhout of Knoxville, TN, Lynn Nuttall of Muskegon, Prudence Moore (Bruce) of North Muskegon, and Scott Kamhout (Melissa) of Nampa, ID; her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and by her brother, Bob Dean of CA, and sister Pat Meyer of Grand Rapids, MI. A memorial service will be held 3:00 PM Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., 231-798-1100, with Pastor Bill Uetricht officiating. Visitation with her family will take place one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions in memory of Margaret may be given to the North Muskegon “Walker Memorial” Library or the Alzheimer’s Association.
