Margaret R. Kennebeck's Obituary
Margaret R. Kennebeck, age 83, passed away early Sunday, August 11, 2024, in Muskegon. She was born on July 12, 1941, to Orville and Lois (St. Amond) Petersen, in Muskegon, where she has been a lifelong resident. She graduated from Muskegon High School class of 1959. Margaret was a dedicated employee of General Dynamics where she worked as an administrative assistant for 37 years before retiring in 2000. On October 16, 1995, she married the love of her life, Thomas Kennebeck. Together they cherished 28 years full of love and laughter. She loved spending her time outdoors walking her dogs at the Seminole Grove complex and sitting on the porch there was her happy place. She also enjoyed walking along her vacation beach in Sarasota, Florida. She enjoyed reading, word searches and showering her pets with unconditional love. Margaret was selfless by nature, always generous and kind to anyone she met. She was compassionate, tender-loving and considerate to a fault. Her radiant smile and unwavering love will be missed by so many. She is survived by her loving husband, Tom Kennebeck; three daughters, Kimberly (Mark Miller), Debra and Lori Kreuter; two grandsons, Joseph and Matthew Clifford; stepson, Kevin (Julie) Kennebeck; stepdaughter-in-law, Dawn Kennebeck; 6 step-grandchildren; brother, William (Gay) Petersen; two sisters, Shirley Lawrence and Katheryn (John) Carlson; numerous nieces and nephews; beloved dog, Abby; and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Phyllis Perry and Rose Mary Leptich; stepson, John Kennebeck; and brother-in-law, Kenneth Lawrence. A Memorial Gathering will be held from 12-2:00 PM on Friday, August 16, 2024, at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Service, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444. She will be laid to rest at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Memorial Contributions in Margaret’s honor can be directed to the Noah Project or Gentiva Hospice.
