Margaret Feldmann Kruizenga's Obituary
Mrs. Margaret Feldmann Kruizenga, age 83, of Freedom Village in Holland and formerly of Grand Haven passed away Sunday, April 29, 2013 at Holland Hospital. She was born November 14, 1929 in New York City to Herman C. and Frieda (Graf) Feldmann.
Margaret was a graduate of Hope College in 1952, and earned a Masters Degree in Sociology from Boston University. She was a member of First Church of Christ Scientist in Irving, Texas and Grand Haven. She was an active golfer and an art collector. Margaret was known for her love of the arts and theater.
In 1952 she married Richard “Dick” Kruizenga in Dougleston, Long Island and together they lived all over the world: Irving, TX; New York City; Sydney, Australia; Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; Tokyo, Japan; and Greenwich, CT, Cambridge and
Boston MA, and Houston, TX, and Long Island (NY). Dick’s (now retired) business career was in the Petroleum Industry for Standard Oil (N.J.) and Exxon.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Richard; two children: Meg Mulder Froelich (Paul) of Greenwood Village, Colorado, and Derek Kruizenga (Sylvia) of Old Greenwich, Connecticut; five grandchildren: Danielle Kruizenga of New York City, Schuyler Kruizenga of Claremont, CA, Katrina, Annalise and Osgood Mulder Froelich of Greenwood Village, CO. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Frieda Feldmann; one brother, Robert Feldmann and a son Dwight Kruizenga.
Groundbreaking Ceremonies for the Richard and Margaret Feldmann Kruizenga Art Museum at Hope College will take place on May 24th.
A Memorial Service will be 2:00 PM Saturday, May 25, 2013 at the Auditorium on the sixth floor at Freedom Village in Holland, MI with Rev. Richard Rehm officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place in Spring Lake Cemetery at a later date.
