Margaret G. Mathews' Obituary
Margaret Genevieve (Mulready) Mathews, age 81, passed away at the Harbor Hospice Poppen Residence on Saturday morning, October 17, 2015, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s. Margaret was born April 20, 1934 in Muskegon to Francis and Inez (Woodard) Mulready, and she married Stanley Louis Mathews on December 5, 1953. She was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church and retired from American Coil Spring. Margaret enjoyed walking, reading and knitting. She will be greatly missed by her family. She is survived by her husband Stanley and 2 children: Theresa (Gary) Timm of Spring Lake, Gary (Linda) Mathews of Grand Rapids; 4 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers: Michael (Helen) Mulready, Philip Mulready; sister, Kathryn Heilman; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Francis, John, Joseph, and Vivian “Pat” Mulready; and sister, Mary Hecker. The family would like to thank the staff at Grand Pines Assisted Living and Harbor Hospice Poppen Residence for the love and care they gave to Margaret. THE MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will take place 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church – Marian Chapel with the Rev. Fr. Philip Salmonowicz presiding. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service. Entombment will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery. MEMORIALS to the Muskegon Catholic Education Foundation will be appreciated.
