Margaret A. Mitchelson's Obituary
Mrs. Margaret A. Mitchelson passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 14, 2022 surrounded by her family, just four days short of her 82nd birthday. She was born to Thomas and Mary (Iacopetti) Faino in Muskegon on May 18, 1940. A lifelong resident of the area, Margaret married John “Jack” Mitchelson on September 17, 1966 and spent 39 wonderful years together. Mags’ faith was an important part of her life and she was a former member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church and recently attended Mass at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. She enjoyed volunteering at nursing homes in Whitehall and grabbing coffee with her friends. Mags and Jack were very involved with Reeths-Puffer Schools and help start the current Booster Club. Above all else, Mags loved her family. She could have been found attending as many sporting and school events as she could for her children, and later on, her eight grandchildren. Her grandchildren were the light of her life and she made so many wonderful memories playing with them and supporting their various activities, including baseball, basketball, volleyball, and softball. Mags will be deeply missed by her children, Ann Mitchelson, Tim (Janie) Mitchelson, Don (Jennifer) Mitchelson, and Pat (Nicki) Mitchelson; and grandchildren, Jack, Abbey, Jayme, Kaleb, Coby, Brayden, Addison, and Hank. Along with her husband, Jack, Mags was also preceded in death by her daughter, Lynn M. Mitchelson; infant twin girls; and siblings, Ron Faino, Rosemary Duff, and Bert Faino. A Private Family Service will be held. Burial to take place at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements by The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444. Please feel free to share a memory online at www.sytsemafh.com.
