Margaret L. Morell's Obituary
Margaret L. Morell, age 90, passed away Thursday, June 9, 2022 in Jenison, MI. She was born on December 24, 1931 to Linwood and Lenora (Mackie) Brown in Dorr, MI and later made her way to Muskegon. On July 1, 1961, she married Don Morell and together they cherished 60 years of love and laughter. He preceded her in death on January 6, 2022. Margaret worked for 25 years alongside her husband at Morell Heating, where she was a secretary and treasurer. Together they retired in 1988. She took pride in being a Dolphinette which was a group dedicated to wives of Submarine Veterans. She also served as a Chaplin at the Navy Museum in Muskegon. Margaret is survived by her 2 children, Don (Marianne) Morell and Gail Morell; 3 grandchildren, Samantha (Darcy) Morell, Keith (Sarah) Morell, and Geoffrey (Emily) Hicks; 5 great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Ashlyn, Ethan, Zoey, and Ashton; and son-in-law, Steve Hicks. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Ann Hicks; and 2 brothers, John (Pearl) Brown and William (Juanita) Brown. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, June 13, 2022 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 with Pastor Aaron Gregory officiating. A Visitation with the family will be held one-hour prior from 1-2:00 PM. Burial will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
