Mrs. Margaret "Peg" Jean Jacobson's Obituary
Mrs. Margaret (Peg) Jean Jacobson, age 85, passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2016. She was born on April 10, 1931 to Rudolph and Elizabeth (Leeuw) Danielson in Muskegon, MI. Peg was a faithful member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church where she enjoyed the Couples Club, her Women’s Circle Group, and assisting her husband with Treasurer duties. Prior to raising children, Peg worked for a number of years at Shaw Walker. She married the love of her life, Raymond E. Jacobson on October 21, 1961. Peg is survived by her son Paul (Liana) Jacobson and her daughter Julie (James) Veersma and her grandchildren Megan, Matthew, Vanessa, Ryan, Jack, and Olivia. She is also survived by her brother Robert (Margaret) Danielson, her sister- in- law Elaine Danielson, and many nieces, nephews, and good friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Raymond, her grandson Jacob, her brother Albert Danielson, and her sisters Anne Rollenhagen, Betty Weller, and Alice Decker. Spending time with family, and attending church functions were most important to Peg, but she also enjoyed reading, baking, and watching her favorite sports teams. She dedicated time volunteering at her church, her children’s schools, and at the local hospitals. Peg loved to make people laugh, and made new friends wherever she went. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at 11:00 AM at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church at 1132 Southern Ave. on Monday, September 12th, 2016, with Pastor Jane Mountain officiating. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. (231-798-1100).
