Margaret L. Pontius' Obituary
Margaret Louise Pontius, age 94, passed away in Muskegon, MI, on Saturday, November 30, 2024. Margaret was born in Holland, MO, on July 28, 1930, to W.T. and Maude (Dumont) Cannon. She worked as a clerk for Continental Motors for 35 years, retiring in 1986. She married Stephen “Steve” Pontius in 1969, and the two of them spent many wonderful years building a family together until he preceded her in death in 1986. In her younger years she was an avid reader, and she loved playing cards and dice with her friends. Margaret’s life was marked by her warmth and dedication to her family.
Margaret will be lovingly remembered by her grandson, Larry Steven Hickey; stepson, Patrick (Laura) Pontius; four step-grandchildren: Heather Zack, Holly Pontius, Hannah (Jesse) Romel, and Patrick (Rebecca) Pontius; and eight step-great-greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen Pontius; parents, W.T. and Maude Cannon; son, Larry Hickey; and three siblings: Ralph Cannon, Jewell Pugh, and Virginia Cannon.
