Mrs. Margaret A. Schuelke's Obituary
Mrs. Margaret A. “Tillie” Schuelke, 98, passed away July 14, 2020 in Kalamazoo. She was born July 13, 1922 to Frank and Margaret (Beyrle) Diebold in Muskegon, and was a lifelong resident of Muskegon. She was a longtime member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Tillie loved baking, and when her children were young, she would bake dozens of cookies and sell them from her home. She was also a finalist in the Pillsbury Cook-Off, where she had her picture taken with Ronald Reagan. She loved to read and she loved her family. On July 27, 1944 she married Frank A. Schuelke, and he preceded her in death in 1992. Survivors include 5 children: Rita Greeley, Thomas (Sherilyn) Schuelke, Anne (Timothy) Casteel, Mary (Donald) Forget, Donna Santos; 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren;daughter-in-law Nanette Schuelke; many nieces and nephews and their families. She was also preceded in death by her parents, 1 son David Schuelke, 1 son-in-law Andrew Greeley, brother Francis Diebold, and sister Mary Schuelke. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, July 20, at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the graveside service in St. Mary’s Cemetery Chapel. The family requests that masks and social distancing be honored. Contributions in memory of Mrs. Schuelke may be made to St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church.
