Margaret Mae "Peg" Schultz's Obituary
Mrs. Margaret Mae “Peg” Schultz, age 87, passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2016 in Muskegon, Michigan. Peg was born in Flint, Michigan on February 11, 1929 to Albert and Frances (D’Jock) Grimm and graduated from Flint Northern High School. After high school, Peg moved with her former husband to the Great Lakes Naval Base in Illinois and then to Ypsilanti, Michigan where she established a daycare program and had worked as a dental assistant. They then moved to Pentwater, Michigan where Peg became a full-time homemaker, raising their five children, and Lars, an exchange student from Sweden, who still remains part of her family. Peg married Ronald Schultz in Davison, Michigan on July 28, 1979, and they enjoyed 36 years of marriage before Ron passed on May 15, 2016. One of their favorite pastimes was riding bikes. They traveled throughout the United States, making it to all but two of the states, camping and biking. Peg also enjoyed snow skiing, playing tennis, enjoying the beautiful beach at Mears State Park and spending time with her family and many friends. She was an active member of McGraft Congregational Church, the Pentwater Yacht Club, and was active in the Pentwater Public Schools. She is survived by five children, Dennis (Pamela) Kimmel, Darryl Kimmel, Diane (Michael Johns) Kimmel, Dori (Chuck) Cross and Derek (Daphne) Kimmel; two step-children, Daniel (Cheryl) Schultz and Kevin (Julie) Schultz; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, Edward (Delores) Grimm and sister, Lois (Harold) McMahn. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald; her parents and brother, Robert Grimm. Peg’s MEMORIAL SERVICE will be 11:00 AM Saturday, October 8, 2016 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., 231-798-1100 with Rev. Jason Griffice officiating. VISITATION will be one hour prior to her service.
