Margaret Sikkenga's Obituary
On February 28, 2005 our loving and devoted mother, wife, grandmother, and friend Mrs. Margaret “Mike” Sikkenga went to be with the Lord at the age of 68. She was born February 9, 1937 to Louis F. and Elizabeth (VanderStelt) Deitz in Muskegon, and was a life resident. She retired from American Coil Spring after working there for 10 years, and previously worked at E.P.C. Industries. On April 18, 1953 Margaret married Arthur Sikkenga in Muskegon, and he survives her along with 4 children, Jerry (Irais) Sikkenga, James Sikkenga, Patty (Robert) Temple, Deb Coy, all of Muskegon; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Louis (Joann) Deitz of Muskegon, John (Eugenia) Deitz of Muskegon; 2 sisters, Betty Hutchinson of VA, Leona Smith of Ludington; sister-in-law, Dickie Sikkenga of Wixom, MI, numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia; brother, Robert Deitz; sister, Arlene Hendricks; in-laws, Robert Hutchinson, Harold Smith, Harvey Hendricks, Nickolaus (Karen) Sikkenga, Jeanne (Jack) Kenny, Robert Sikkenga, and Joyce Deitz. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday at Temple United Methodist Church. VISITATION with the family will be from 6-8 PM Wednesday at Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 737 Apple Ave.,(231) 726-5210.
