Margaret M. Tyler's Obituary
Margaret M. Tyler, 88, peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday morning, October 26, 2024. She was born February 17, 1936, to Gustaf A. and Hillevi A. (Hallberg) Swanson in Muskegon and moved to the Whitehall area in 1975. Margaret worked as a secretary for the State of Michigan, Department of Corrections, for 22 years before retiring in 1992. She was a member of First Lutheran Church, and enjoyed flowers, gardening, and reading. Margaret was very knowledgeable about many aspects of life, and she was also an accomplished seamstress. On November 12, 1955, Margaret married Jerry A. Tyler, and he survives her, along with four children, Daniel Allen (Leisa) Tyler of Muskegon, Julie Ann (Kevin) Schultz of Scottville, David Lee (Grace) Tyler of Phoenix, AZ, and Larry Earl Tyler of Muskegon, 8 grandchildren, Stacey Haynes, Austin Tyler, Tara Tyler, Dylan (Jamie Vanallsburg) Tyler, Landon (Skye Lowe) Tyler, Jennifer (Rick) Machiele, Terry (Amber) Lanning, Cassidy (Jay) Shawl, 11 great-grandchildren, and 2 more on the way, 3 great-great-grandchildren, one sister, Lilly Jeanette Banner, and a special family friend Laura Abscomb. She was preceded in death by her parents, one granddaughter Teresa Tyler, one grandson Ayden Tyler, and a brother-in-law Jack Banner, A service to remember and celebrate Margaret’s life will take place Friday, November 8, at 11:00 AM at First Lutheran Church, 1206 Whitehall Rd., Muskegon, 49445. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Contributions in memory of Mrs. Tyler may be made to the Harbor Hospice Foundation. Arrangements have been entrusted to The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 737 E. Apple Ave., Muskegon, MI 49442.
