Margaret Helen Vanderlip Bowen's Obituary
Mrs. Margaret Helen (Vanderlip) Bowen, age 91, passed away Sunday, September 1, 2019 in Muskegon. She was born in Muskegon Heights on April 18, 1928 to Leroy and Lourvina (McPherson) Greene and was a lifelong resident of the Muskegon area. Margaret was a member of the Church of God United. She enjoyed bowling, playing bingo and card games. Margaret was married to Lucean J. Vanderlip, and he preceded her in death on July 19, 1976. She later married Russell B. Bowen, and he preceded her in death on December 11, 2007. She is survived by 3 daughters, Marsha Stever, Helen (Joseph) Popelar, and Brenda (Jesse) Puente; several grand and great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Delores Malo; 1 sister-in-law, Cathy Greene; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Gary Vanderlip; grandson, Donald Schutter; six brothers, Raymond, Walter, Kenneth, Glen, Clyde and Willard Greene. SERVICES will be held 11:00 AM Friday, September 6, 2019 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 with Pastor Phil Grossenbacher officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to her service. Burial will take place at Mona View Cemetery. Contributions in memory of Margaret may be made to Hospice of Michigan.
