Margaret A. Mason's Obituary
Margaret A. Mason, age 90, passed away early Thursday morning, April 21, 2011 at the Applewood Nursing Center in Woodhaven, MI following a long illness. She was born in Muskegon Heights on December 31, 1920 to Julius and Margaret (Beluzar) Takats. The Takats family moved to Chicago when Margaret was just an infant, returning to Muskegon Hts. in 1936, she graduated from Muskegon Hts. H.S. in 1937. The former Margaret Takats married Mr. Joseph J. Mason in Muskegon on July 6, 1944 and he preceded her in death on October 13, 2001. Margaret was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, enjoyed cooking and being with family. She is survived by: three sons, Joseph J. Mason, Jr. of Buffalo Grove, IL, Thomas J. (Yvonne) Mason of Travelers Rest, SC and Dennis P. (Jeanne) Mason of Trenton, MI; three sisters, Theresa Boczkaja of Norton Shores, Betty (Larry) Otto of Ann Arbor and Maryanne Csanda of Huntley, IL; 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by: a daughter, Betty Dugas; two brother, Eugene and Julius Takats; a sister, Irene Kandelac; and daughter-in-law, Dee Mason. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at: Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, April 26, 2011 with Fr. Thomas J. Brown presiding. Visitation: 9:30 A.M. till service time at the Church. Interment: St. Mary’s Cemetery. Memorial Contributions: Sacred Heart Church
